10% Christianity

I once heard an old prophet of God say that church attendance constitutes about 10% of Christianity. Some people think they have done their 'Christian' duty when they have given their tithe - their 10%. They've gone to church and given their tithe...so, that's about it, right? I don't think so. Is it not true that to be saved one must give one's heart to the Lord? The Apostle Paul said he was a bond slave to Christ, meaning he belonged entirely to the Lord. Does God require any less for us today? Does He have all your heart or just 10%? Is the other 90% of your income yours to do as you please? If you want a legalistic Christianity, I guess it will suffice. But consider this. Do you really want to be a bond slave to Him or just a part time Christian, say 10%? Or how about 50%? Or even 90%? No, if we really want to be radical let's just give Him our whole heart and completely surrender or bodies as a living sacrifice. Today's nominal Christianity is a shadow of the life God has in mind for you. "All to Jesus I surrender, all to Him I freely give." I dare say if we would try it, our lives would be radically changed, and so would others who are looking to find the genuine article.

Nominal Christianity. Can we live with it or will we say "enough is enough"? Trouble is that many do not even realize they are stricken with this disease. It is a slow killer that turns a life giving people into zombies...the walking dead. Many would rather continue on 'as is' instead of challenging the status quo. How can you tell? A good way to tell is by her victims. Don't believe it? A little investigating and you will find her victims scattered for miles. You will also find these life-killing zombies still running the church. The hurt or damaged ones leave and the so-called defenders of the faith don't budge. Instead of a stream of living water flowing from them, there can be found man made cisterns that cannot hold water. In other words, the Holy Spirit cannot dwell there. This zombie's name is Ichabod. And they wear their name proudly. Are you a dweller or a follower? Remember, the church, local or universal is not ours to rule. Jesus is the head and we are His body. Or are we?
